Which nicotine strength should I choose?

Most people transitioning from combustible cigarettes to vaping tend to purchase products with a higher nicotine strength (i.e., 25mg to 60mg) because they are most comparable to cigarettes.

The first question to ask yourself is what type of throat hit you prefer. A general rule of thumb to keep in mind is that the higher the nicotine strength, the stronger the throat hit.

If you're looking for a gentler throat hit, then you may want to consider vaping products with lower nicotine strengths (i.e., 0mg to 18mg). In fact, you'll notice that many brands only offer up to a 6mg strength for their freebase nicotine juices.

What if you're interested in vaping a higher nicotine strength but you still want to avoid a harsh throat hit? Then a nicotine salt juice may be your best bet. Because nicotine salts are primarily offered in higher nicotine strengths, you'll still get a strong throat hit, but it will be less irritating as a result of the benzoic acid that has been combined with the nicotine base.

Which strength you should choose also depends on which device you use. Lower nicotine strengths are compatible with tank and mod systems (e.g., the bigger devices that require external batteries). Higher nicotine strengths work best with refillable pod mods and other low-wattage systems.
