My order has been returned to sender - what now?

Is your order on its way back to us?

If the tracking says that your order has been returned to sender, there are many possible reasons as to why this might have happened. The most common reasons are:

  • Insufficient Address: mail with missing delivery information such as premises number, street, ZIP code, box number, or any other required information, preventing carriers from delivering to the correct address
  • Addressee Unknown: when delivery has been attempted, but the recipient on the order does not match the one currently at the address
  • Vacant: when the house, apartment, office or building is unoccupied
  • Unsuccessful delivery attempts: Two unsuccessful delivery attempts to the correct recipient have been made (X Delivery)

 If your order is on its way back to us and you'd still like it to be delivered to you, first check that the address you gave us is correct by referring to your order history within your Electric Tobacconist account or your order confirmation email.

We'll re-dispatch your order once it gets back to our offices provided that you confirm your full shipping address. Note: As we cannot be held responsible for the miscommunication of your shipping address, we are unable to take any action until the order makes its way back to us.

Please also note that carriers don't prioritize packages of this nature, and sometimes it can 2-3 weeks for us to get the order returned to our warehouse, however, in certain circumstances we will be happy to re-ship your order if we know it's on its way back to us so as to save you the hassle of having to wait for it.
